Nottingham’s Jubilee campus – love or loathe?

August 18, 2009

“Building Design” magazine announced, last week, its longlist for the 2009 “Carbuncle Cup”.   BD says:  “Launched in 2006, the Carbuncle Cup is to the Stirling Prize what the Golden Raspberries are to the Oscars”.  Amongst the nominations for an “award” this year is Make’s building on Jubilee Campus, Nottingham University.

I happily change my route to go past this building, it’s great fun. Annoyed that Building Design have deliberately taken the rear view with the car park in the foreground to make it as unflattering as possible. The front view that most people have from the road is much more appealing (and red!)
