Perceptions of local services in the East Midlands…

June 23, 2009

Place survey headline results out today:
http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/corporate/statistics/placesurvey2008

The survey collects information on 18 national indicators for local government, used to measure local government performance for 152 county councils, metropolitan district councils, London boroughs and unitary authorities. While the Place Survey is primarily intended for use at a local level, national and regional results are provided for benchmarking purposes.

In general East Midlands is pretty much in line with the average for England… but in terms of the individual indicators there are some specific problems highlighted for EM – in particular, (and bearing in mind the usual survey limitiations) the ones around anti social behaviour and how the police deal with it.

Some interesting numbers here (not least the response rates in table 3) : http://www.communities.gov.uk/documents/localgovernment/xls/1262515.xls
